Get Apex Magazine Issue 99 | View All Issues
This esubscription is for 12 months/12 issues of Apex Magazine in the format of your choice beginning with the current issue (or the next issue, if you’re already subscribed and renewing).
How It Works
Once you subscribe a link is emailed to you. Click on the link (or paste it into your browser address bar) and it will start your download. The download links are live for 14 days and can also be found on the Thank You page after your order is completed. Then, when a new issue is released, you will be automatically emailed a link. Easy! If you sign up for a Weightless Books account using the email address you provided with your order, your My Library page will have permanent links to all your ebooks and subscriptions. Please email us (or post in the comments) if you have any questions or problems.
Apex began publishing the critically-acclaimed Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest in 2005, focusing primarily on the science fiction and horror genres. in 2006, the company expanded its offerings to include novellas, author-focused collections and anthologies. Two years later, the company moved from a quarterly print digest to a monthly digital publication, offering professional pay rates for authors. That same year, Apex began publishing books.
Catherynne M Valente edited the magazine from August 2010 to October 2011.

I currently receive my subscription as a epub. Is there any way I can change it to a pdf copy. I would prefer that than epub.
Thank you.
Edward Moore
Edward,
Yes there is a way! First, if you haven’t already, sign up for an account using the email address where we send your books:
http://weightlessbooks.com/wp-login.php?action=register
Then go to My Library, where you’ll be able to specify whatever format you like and download all the files:

Let us know if you have any trouble. Thanks!
I was already thinking of subscribing, but there’s the deciding factor: would you ship stuff to Mexico? <.<
Alex–we ship our stuff everywhere, including Mexico, via the tubes of the Internet! :) In other words, we sell ebooks here. As a matter of fact, I believe Apex Magazine has gone completely digital–you can’t even get a print subscription anymore. See here: http://www.tor.com/blogs/2009/07/a-new-future-for-our-print-magazines
Please enlighten me. I want to renew my Apex subscription. But everything I push to renew leads me in a circle. Where is the button that actually renews??? Thanks.
Velox, all you have to do to renew is buy the subscription again, using the buy button and the checkout button, the same way you bought it the first time.
Jason Sizemore at the Apex site says “with 100% confidence” that, if I purchase a subscription (MOBI format) from you that it will go direct to (and work on) my Spanish-registered Kindle. I know I should take him at his word, but Amazon.com purchases have tripped me up this way in the past – can you confirm?
Yes–it should work just as he described. We (thankfully) are not affiliated with Amazon, so we don’t have to abide by their weird international limitations. As long as your kindle has an internet connection and you tell us its email address, we send your new issues directly to it.
Excellent, thanks very much. Consider me a customer.
OK, I probably should get this, but what is a weightless book? Is it an ebook in a different format? Thanks.
Hi George, we offer Apex in 3 formats: pdf, mobi (for Kindles), and epub. There’s more about formats and ebook readers here:

Thanks. DOH! I realize now YOU are Weightless Books, not that a weightless book is a specific format. Sorry about that. I was thinking you are Apex. Will now go bang my head against the wall. Thanks for your help. Is there a sample copy available to view, or examples of the kinds of stories found in Apex?
I believe you can read part of the magazine on their site:
