Get Galaxy’s Edge Magazine: Issue 27, July 2017 | View All Issues
This esubscription is for 12 months/6 issues of Galaxys Edge in the format of your choice beginning with the current issue (or the next issue, if you’re already subscribed and renewing).
How It Works
Once you subscribe a link is emailed to you. Click on the link (or paste it into your browser address bar) and it will start your download. The download links are live for 14 days and can also be found on the Thank You page after your order is completed. Then, when a new issue is released, you will be automatically emailed a link. Easy! If you sign up for a Weightless Books account using the email address you provided with your order, your My Library page will have permanent links to all your ebooks and subscriptions. Please email us (or post in the comments) if you have any questions or problems.
Galaxy’s Edge is a bi-monthly (every two months) magazine published by Phoenix Pick, the science fiction and fantasy imprint of Arc Manor, an award winning independent press based in Maryland. Each issue of the magazine has a mix of new and old (reprint) stories, new columns by Barry Malzberg and Gregory Benford and book reviews by Paul Cook.
Duh. Where do I click to renew my subscription out on the Calay’s Edge.
To renew, you just buy the subscription again–so click the “Add to Cart” button. I hope that helps.
So you have to down load the edition within 5 days? Sorry, I love SF but have trouble with some of the tech stuff.
The download link in the order email only works for five days, yes. However, like it says in the email, if you sign up for an account you can always come back and get the files from your My Library page no matter how long it’s been.
And, um, which format should I use. I’ve heard of PDF but not the other two.
If you don’t mind reading a PDF on your computer screen, or if you plan to print out the issue, go ahead and use PDF. The other formats are meant for use with an ereader like a Kindle (MOBI format), Nook or iPad (EPUB format). So your choice of file format depends on how you want to read.
I hope that helps.
and for others wondering the same thing, if you use an iPad download the kindle ap for iPad which you may prefer to the iPad’s own reader. then of course, buy the .mobi format.
ePubs are for reading software like Marvin 3 or Marvin on the iPhone/iPad, or Adobe reader on Windows. mobi is Amazon’s pet format, and you can use kindle for PC, kindle for iOS(apple), etc.
How do I get the freebie? Does it come automatically or do I have to add it to the card, use a code, etc?
It will automatically be included in your order email and in your Library–all you have to do is buy the subscription.
I would like to subscribe via Nook, however comma, I don’t see that option when perusing the B&N shop. I realize that there are several other workable options, but you know, Nook is convenient.
I’m going to date myself here (no, not autophilia) and ask if there is any relationship to ‘Galaxy’, Worlds of If’, and ‘Worlds of Tomorrow’ publishing group? Not ‘Analog’ (the One with Rivets).
I recognize several authors that have published in these palimpsests.
Wayne
Hi Wayne, if you like you can subscribe here and choose the “epub” format for your Nook. Otherwise you could ask Galaxy’s Edge (http://www.galaxysedge.com/jcon.htm) if they are going to make subscriptions available in the Nook store. I do not think the magazine is related to any iterations of Galaxy, etc., instead I think the name is meant to call up echoes of some of those magazines you name.
You mean 12 months/6 issues not 12 months/7 issues, right?
Yes, thanks. Fixed it.
Is there any way to get it in single-column format? Constantly having to scroll updownupdown is really irritating
Try reading in EPUB or MOBI format, both of which are reflowable.
If you subscribe, do you have access to all three electronic formats (Mobi, ePub, and PDF), or do you only get one?
Hi, you get access to all 3. You can re-download any format anytime if you log in and go to your Library.
The new Galaxy’s Edge is out per email from Phoenix, but their website is pushing signing up with some site that requires Facebook or Twitter IDs –bookdroppr, something like that.
Where’s the new issue email link?
Hi Hank, your issues can always be downloaded in all available formats from your Library: https://weightlessbooks.com/my-library/
I don’t know anything about Bookgrabbr — you’d have to ask the publishers themselves on their site: http://www.galaxysedge.com/
